Accounting Assistant Position
Since 2001, Lincoln Military Housing has worked closely with all levels of the armed services including Navy, Marine Corps,Army and Air Force leaders, to create a new and vastly improved standard of military housing. Today, we are proud to say thatwe have developed or manage more than 31,000 military family homes across the country.
We continually work to improve and enhance the military homes and communities we manage. Through our expertly trainedpersonnel, we provide attentive, responsive resident services including 24-hour maintenance, children’s programs, and freespecial events. Some communities also provide courtesy patrols, intrusion alarm systems, and Internet access. We routinelyseek and react to resident feedback through surveys, town hall meetings, focus groups and correspondence. Through theseefforts, our communities have won numerous awards for development and customer service including many “A” List Awards.
We are in immediate need of an Accounting Assistant to join our team. Following are the job requirements:
May prepare, review and/or process bank deposits (deposit at bank or scan to bank). Input and post deposits in Yardi and/or approve receivables batches. Process check disbursements and corresponding reporting as needed. Daily updates of internal cash sheets (depository and operating) for applicable phases.Prepare daily mail/distribution needs. Process utility IR/payable into Yardi (full utility bills are scanned at a later time). Maintain scanned files to include utility bills, JE files, and/or other scanned documents. Update utility logs Assists with other duties which could include: 1099’s, office filing, outside storage, unclaimed property, office supplies, etc. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal andexternal customers- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook, Gmail and Google Docs)- Yardi experience preferred but not required.- Property management experience preferred.- Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment. Flexibility is important.- Strong attention to detail is critical.- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplarycustomer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given,prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Must also be able to work effectively with and in a teamenvironment.
High school diploma or GED required Associate degree preferred or minimum of four years accounting/office experience.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Associate Degree (or equivalent) in accounting/finance preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant accounting experience.- Accounts Payable experience.- Real estate industry experience is a plus.- Yardi Voyager software experience is highly desired.
