Staff Accountant II

Responsibilities:

A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant II:

As a Lincoln Military Housing Staff Accountant II
you will be responsible multiple accounting processes to include various monthly account reconciliations, daily processing of accounts payable transactions and various other accounting tasks as defined below. A

Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Process monthly rent allotments (upload/input into Yardi).
• IR/Payable processing- review, approve and/or return IRas that have processed to the areview accountinga step
• Upload and process monthly approved concessions as received from the districts.
• Process Government utility payments and prepare analysis as required.
• Prepare and post monthly utility accruals.
• Process write-off packages as received from the districts.
• Completion of reconciliations and account analysis as assigned.
• Process voids and/or stop payments as received.
• Maintain vendor records to include new vendor set-up, existing vendor updates/changes and RMIS coordinator.
• May prepare financials statement for community services.
• Prepare and process monthly GMO allocation.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

What You Need for Success:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency -MS Office a Word, Intermediate Excel (pivot tables, look ups helpful), Gmail and Google Docs.
• Yardi experience preferred but not required.
• Property management experience preferred.
• Ability to adapt to an ever changing environment. Flexibility is important.
• Strong attention to detail is critical.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. Must also be able to work effectively in and with a team environment.
• One to two years as a staff accountant with increasing responsibility.
• Ability to train/guide newer staff accountants.
• Bacheloras degree in business (accounting preferred), accounting degree may be offset with years of accounting department work experience.
• Ability to travel to other regional locations for work, training, meetings and other work-related activities.
